Think of time like money. If you only have $100 to spend and you need to pick up some groceries as well pay a bill, the first thing you would begin to do is calculate and then allocate. What do I mean by that?

Let me break it down…

You have $100 cash in hand, a $40 electricity bill and you need a few groceries. OK, so the first thing you are most likely to do is to set aside the $40 for your bill which leaves you with $60. Lol, I can say this with confidence as that was really simple Math LOL.

So now you have $60 you would look at your list (hopefully you have one) and look at the prices see what you can afford versus what you really need right? Therefore, when the $60 is finished it’s finished right? I don’t know about but I have stood at the cashier and handed her items one by one checking to see how much it goes and then put back the remaining items when the register reaches the amount I have to spend. Can I get a AMEN on that one?

Well, guess what, it’s the same principle you need apply to your time. For real? Lol yes. Think about it, time is something that you can never get back once it’s gone, it’s gone. There is no way to turn back the hands of time. Absolutely no way. Forget all the movies and experiments you hear the FACT is Time cannot be coned, stopped, paused or even fast forwarded. There may certain activities you can engage in that make you feel as if time is standing still or it’s slowing down, but the FACT still remains Time cannot be manufactured.

Ok, so back to my original point Time is like money. Let me bring it home. We should treat our Time as if it were money. How? Well, you only have so much time in a day. Plus, once gone you can never get it back. Hence, the SMART thing to do is to CALCULATE and then ALLOCATE. Set aside some time like you are doing now to read this article (thanks by the way lol) and list out your Tasks for the day. Then:

  1. Put (your price) beside each task i.e. the amount of time it will take you to accomplish each one.
  2. Once this done write down how much you have to spend i.e. how much time you have.
  3. Budget i.e. arrange your task according to Time and Priority

That wasn’t too bad was it? Yup, these are 3 simple steps to help you get on your way to better master your Time.
